“Hanora.k.Designs” is a small business, owned by Noreen Foley, and set up in 2002 on the Southwest of Ireland in a small village called Annacotty, just outside Limerick. It specialises in luxury knitted accessories for fashion and interiors for retail and commissions.The aim is the produce one off fabrics, and pieces of unique textural genius, combining innovative fabric fusion techniques with embroidery, knit and felting and has introduced a new range of fabrics knitted from the shima computerised knitting machine.

The company name Hanora .k. Designs came into being as a label for business cards for Noreen’s degree show in the year 2000’ but has since become quite resourceful in its own right, she has had the experience of exhibiting in Ireland, London and parts of England, Italy and America.

Noreen has a Bachelor of Art Degree in knitted and constructed Textiles from the University of Southampton England, and a 1^st honours certificate in craft from Grennan-mill craft school in Kilkenny. She has also done a post grad in computerised knitting in Limerick School of Art and Design in 2003.

At Showcase 2004 Noreen was showing for the first time her new collection of computer-aided designs for fashion & interiors. Her new soft furnishing accessory range was also selected by Index as one of the top 100 best new designs of 2004

In November 2004 Noreen was also chosen by the crafts council of Ireland along with 25 other craft workers in Ireland to participate in the guest artist programme at the Philadelphia museum of art craft show in the U.S.A. which led to much advertising and also her work getting a viewing on R.T.E nationwide in December 2004.

Inspiration for her work is taken mainly from visions of fine art paintings and textiles. Trends in cultural activities, architecture and landscapes synonymous with Ireland, and areas of Europe, which are rich in colour, texture and creativity.

It’s inspired by nature and images of leaves and feathers,In full and skeleton form.

The colours used are very different From the primal and bold colours of previous pieces.

The look is very clean and sophisticated.
