Niabh McGlynn was born in Dublin. She spent much of her childhood in Co. Cork, particularly on Sherkin Island, where she still visits regularly, to complete a painting degree, among other things. She now resides in Galway, on the outskirts of Connemara.

Niabh trained under the Irish Crafts Council, and has been working with precious metals for over eight years.
Aside from silversmithing and jewellery design, Niabh is recognised as one of Ireland's emerging young artists. She studied textiles, at Galway University, and has proven herself to be a talented and dextrous silk painter.
In all her work one can see at once the power of ancient myth and Celtic influence, while all is made current and modern in her individual style.

She interprets her surrounding landscapes and environments in her own unique style, moulding the feeling of objects and history with elegant and contemporary forms.

Niabh's jewellery combines brushed textured and highly polished finishes. She uses a range of precious metals, primarily silver and silver embellished with 18ct gold and rose gold. More recently she has picked up on the growing demand for white gold and platinum.
