Welcome to Irish Crafts Directory VAT & Taxes Information Pages

VAT

Ireland is part of the European Union, and therefore complies with these regulations.

All Exports outside of the EU are free of VAT (Value Added Tax)

Exports within the EU will depend on whether you are registered for VAT or not.

Anybody not registered for VAT will automatically be charged the Irish Rate of VAT for the appropriate goods, whether the goods are being sent within Ireland or anywhere within the EU.

Goods exported to Vat Registered entities within the EU, will be charged at Zero Rate of VAT, provided the VAT Number is provided. (This can be done by email - quoting the Tracking reference Number.).

Goods shipped to VAT Registered entities within Ireland will be automatically charged the appropriate VAT Rate.

Any other exceptions or details can be found on the Irish Government Revenue Website at: www.revenue.ie

Goods listed on the Irish Crafts Website will be shown ex VAT (TAX). Some Pages will include both inclusive VAT and exclusive VAT for clarity.

Mixed VAT rate orders will be calculated correctly, but only the total VAT amount will be shown on the web site and PayPal invoices.

Current Irish Vat Rates are:

  • Standard: 21%
  • Services: 13.5%
  • Books, some Children Clothes, etc.: 0%

Tax Ship-To Region

When completeing the Tax Ship-To Region in the Shipping Information Page of the Cart Check Out, It is important that you pick the correct selection. An incorrect selection will mean a delay in the order, until this is corrected via email and adjustments of papyment.

Ireland = Purchases by Persons or businesses in Ireland
Ireland Export to EU Registered Businesses, US, Rest of the World = Anyone purchasing outside of Ireland and the EU, AND Registered VAT businesses with the EU
Ireland Export to EU non-Registered for VAT= Citizens resident within any country in the EU, who are NOT registered for VAT
